Privacy policy

helixnetball.com/privacy · Last updated 11 June 2026 · Version 1.0

This policy explains how Richard Thornton (ABN 41 457 527 181) — "we", "us", "our" — handles personal information in connection with the Helix mobile app ("the app") and the website at helixnetball.com ("the website"). We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

The short version

  • The app collects nothing. Everything you record stays on your device and is never sent to us.
  • The website runs no analytics and sets no tracking cookies.
  • The only personal information we collect is the name and email you give us if you join our waitlist — and only so we can tell you about Helix.

The app

The app is offline and local-only. It has no accounts, no login, no analytics, no crash reporting and no cloud sync. Nothing it stores is transmitted to us or to anyone else.

Everything you record — teams, players, line-ups and statistics — is held only on your device. We never receive it, can't see it, and can't recover it for you. You're in control of it: deleting the app deletes it. Because we hold no copy, please keep your own backups by exporting the PDF summaries the app produces.

Information you record about other people

You may record details about other people — including players who are children. You enter that information, it stays on your device, and it never reaches us. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to record those details. If you record a child's information, that's your responsibility as the person recording it.

The website and waitlist

The website is a simple information page. It sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics.

If you join our waitlist, we collect your name and email address. We use them only to let you know about Helix's launch and related updates. We'll never sell, rent or share that information, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing us. We hold waitlist details through our email provider (currently Zoho), whose servers may be located outside Australia; by joining the waitlist you consent to that.

App stores

You download the app through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Those stores collect information under their own privacy policies, which we don't control. Please review Apple's and Google's policies for details.

Keeping information secure

We collect very little, and we take reasonable steps to protect what we do hold from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No system is perfectly secure, but the small amount of information involved keeps the risk low.

Accessing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you — in practice, your waitlist details. Email us and we'll action it. Information held only on your own device is yours to manage directly within the app.

Children

The website and waitlist are intended for adults. The app collects no information about anyone — including children — that reaches us.

Complaints

If you think we've mishandled your personal information, email us and we'll work to resolve it. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; the current version always lives at helixnetball.com. The app is local-only today. If we ever add accounts, cloud sync, or any feature that sends your data off your device, we'll update this policy and tell you before that happens.
